💡 Storage Tip: Keep tape rolls in a cool, dry place (15°C - 25°C) for optimal performance.
Tape is printed using a technique called pad printing, which applies solid, pre-mixed spot colours rather than building colour up from tiny CMYK dots the way most digital printing does. Pantone Coated colours match exactly to that process, whereas a CMYK or RGB file could shift noticeably in colour once converted, which is why it's specified so strictly here.
The tape is printed in repeating sections along the roll rather than as one continuous image, and there's a small unprinted gap between each repeat as part of how the printing plate cycles round. A solid background would show that gap as a visible break every time it repeats, which is why logos, text or graphics on a clear or minimal background work far better than a full colour block.
Custom printed tape is produced in a full print run rather than individual rolls, so a box of 36 reflects the minimum practical batch for a custom design. If you only need a handful of rolls, it's worth factoring the box quantity into how often you're likely to reorder, since a single custom roll isn't something we offer separately.
PVC/vinyl is a strong, flexible option with reliable adhesive for general parcel sealing. Kraft paper tape is the more eco-friendly, recyclable choice and suits a brand wanting to reflect that in its packaging. Polypropylene sits as a durable middle ground, commonly used for everyday parcel sealing where cost and performance both matter.
Adhesive tape can lose some of its stick if stored somewhere too cold, or become overly tacky and harder to unwind cleanly if it's too warm. Keeping it within the 15 to 25 degree range keeps the adhesive performing as expected when you come to use it, rather than fighting a roll that's gone stiff or overly sticky from poor storage conditions.
